West Hallam Plumbing and Electrical – Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 01/08/2026
These terms apply to all quotes, works, and services provided by West Hallam Plumbing and Heating ("we," "us," "our") to our customers ("you," "your").
1. Quotes
Any quote provided by us, whether verbal, written, or emailed, is an estimate of the cost of works and does not, on its own, constitute a binding contract. A quote remains valid for 28 days from the date issued, unless otherwise stated.
2. Acceptance of Works
A contract between us is only formed once you confirm your acceptance of the quote in writing, for example by replying to our email stating words to the effect of: "I agree to the works discussed being carried out on [date]." Work will not be scheduled or begin until this confirmation has been received.
3. Right to Cancel
Where a contract is formed by phone, email, or through our website without us meeting you in person beforehand, this is treated as a "distance contract" under the Consumer Contracts Regulations. You generally have 14 days from acceptance to cancel free of charge. If you ask us to begin work sooner than this, and confirm this in writing, you agree to waive part or all of this cancellation period, and you may be liable for costs of work already carried out.
4. Deposits
A deposit is required to secure all jobs valued over £200. This reserves the necessary time, materials, and resources for your job and is deducted from your final invoice upon completion. Full details are set out in our Deposit Policy below.
5. Cancellations
If you cancel confirmed works with less than 48 hours' notice, and a deposit has been paid, that deposit is non-refundable. This reflects the costs already incurred by us in preparing for and reserving time for your job, including materials ordered and other work turned away to accommodate your booking.
6. Payment Terms
All payments are to be made to the account details provided on your invoice, within sufficient time of invoice date or immediately after works have been completed, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
7. Certification
All work is completed to the appropriate industry standards and, where applicable, is accompanied by official certification (e.g. NICEIC/City & Guilds electrical certificates).
8. Liability
We carry full public liability insurance. We are not liable for pre-existing faults or issues not disclosed to us prior to the commencement of works.
9. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
